Rachel Maryam

Rachel Maryam Sayidina was born in Bandung, April 20, 1980. Acting world has always been her dream. She moved from Bandung to Jakarta and got the role in a TV series “Lupus Millenia” and “Strawberry.” Her first attempt in film was in “Eliana, Eliana” (2002) where she impressed critics locally and internationally. Through her second film “Arisan!” (2003), she won the Best Supporting Actress of Indonesian Film Festival 2004. Her exploration in acting was shown through different roles in the films like “Janji Joni” (2005), “Anne van Jogja” (2005), “Belahan Jiwa” (2005), “Vina Bilang Cinta” (2005) and “Medley” (2007). In the Chant From An Island segment in Chants of Lotus, Rachel plays Wulan, an autistic girl.
