works have been known in the
films of Malaysia's new cinematic
great talents. His collaboration with
Yuhang in Rain Dogs won many praises in the international film
festival circuit, such as Venice and
Pusan. |
| His first collaboration with
Indonesian director, can be seen in
Garin Nugroho’s Requiem from Java
(Opera Jawa). Teoh believes that the
gritty reality of women in Chants
of Lotus represents Indonesia that
have never been seen in cinema. |

Having learnt cinematography
in Institute of Art Jakarta, his
first experience as Director of
Photography started in television.
He won Best Cinematography in
Lo Fen Koei Feature Film Digital
Award Singapore in 2001 |
| and Best Cinematography for Television
in Indonesian Film Festival 2004.
The love affair with the big screen
started in 2004 and already resulted
in four feature films including Long
Road to Heaven a feature film
about the Bali bombing. Ical is very
proud having the opportunity to be
one of the DOPs in Chants of Lotus
that he describes as a powerful
film about Indonesian women by
Indonesian women directors. |
